Overview

Division Overview:

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts.

Here at the Olympia Plant, we currently manufacture 12 oz. beverage cans.  However, Crown is investing in this plant to expand and add a third manufacturing line for full production in the summer of 2021 to manufacture specialty beverage cans of various sizes.

This means that we are hiring 38 talented, motivated people with great attitudes, work ethics to be a team member of the forever-growing company of Crown Cork and Seal. 

Hiring will start December/January with extensive on-the-job training with incremental salary increases.  Here is your chance for a great opportunity to join the Crown Beverage Division for your future career. 

Primary Functions Include:

This position is in the training program and will be required to complete a 3,000-hour training program to be fully qualified as a LSM Adjuster/Oven watcher.  Extensive on-the-job training (OJT) will be provided.  Responsibilities include:  

Observe, maintain, adjust, clean, remove cans and make minor repairs to automatic lacquer spraying machines and related equipment as required to maintain standard quality and quantity production on assigned equipment. 

Start/stop lacquer room equipment, including pumps, vibrators, exhaust fans, etc.

Set up and adjust all spray room equipment when necessary.

Detect and remove defective cans by visually examining production flow. 

Remove all jams from assigned equipment.

Lubricate assigned equipment as required.

Start up and shut down ovens.

Place lacquer waste materials into proper containers.

Maintain checklists, lubrication lists or other related records as required.

Receive and offload tanker trucks. 

In addition to performing maintenance duties, concurrently maintain and/or operate equipment as assigned. 

This person will have primary responsibility for safety in all areas of the assigned duties. 

SALARY: Starting wage $26.6123 progressing every 1,000 hours up to 3,000 hours ending at a max of $28.7670 as a fully trained LSM.

Benefits: This is a union position and includes a pension. 

As a new employee, you become eligible for benefits under the Plan the 1st of the month following one full month of employment and must enroll within 30 days of your eligibility date to have coverage for the remainder of the current Plan year (January 1 through December 31). Medical, dental, vision, prescription and 401k.


Minimum 18 years old

High School diploma or G.E.D preferred

Minimum six (6) months’ work experience in a manufacturing company is highly desirable.

Must possess basic math skills.

Mechanical experience working in a manufacturing setting will be desirable. 

Must be able to comply with all OSHA and WISHA safety rules and regulations.

Must be able to stand for long periods as well as climbing stairs and working on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months. 

Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping and precision abilities is highly desirable.

Ability to work under time pressures and flexibility to adjust to sudden work patterns or schedules. 

Ability to work independently and with teams.  Must have good interpersonal skills.

Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.

This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire.
