Overview

Responsibilities
STARTING WAGE $34.95

Starting pay for Maintenance Machinist position is $34.95 per hour and will receive an increase to $35.82 November 2024. Successful candidates will receive a $500 sign-on bonus after completing 6 months of employment. This role may be called one of the following at another company: Manual Machinist, Machinist, Toolmaker.

Crown currently has an opening for a Maintenance Machinist at our Dayton, OH facility due to expansion. Here is your opportunity to help on the Dayton team that manufactures millions of beverage can ends per day.
Job Accountabilities
The Maintenance Machinist duties include, but not limited to:
- Must have significant experience in operating production machines
- Diagnoses or troubleshoots machines or equipment to determine malfunction and the need for adjustment or repair
- Performs mechanical repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment
- Lubricates and cleans parts, installs, moves, sets-up and operates all types of equipment and machine tools
Minimum requirements include, but not limited to:
- Safety orientated
- Currently holds a journeyman machinists card OR the equivalent of 6 years direct machinist experience
- Full understanding of manual lathes, surface grinders, and related shop equipment
- Good mathematical skills
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
- Possess a team orientated attitude
- Proficient with micrometers, calipers and indicators
- A good mechanical aptitude and background is a must
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedule
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- The team member frequently is required to climb or balance and talk or hear.
- The team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
