Overview

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. POSITION OVERVIEW:
Production Millwright for an aluminum end manufacturing plant. The plant operates on a continuous schedule 24/7. Employees work 12-hour shifts. We also offer hour shift differential of $.88. In addition to a competitive salary, (Starting pay is $27.41/hour, $28.78 beginning June 16, 2025.) our employees enjoy a full benefits package including free company paid health insurance for employees as well as excellent retirement package (a pension, company 401(k) and Stock Purchase Plan), Tuition Reimbursement, Safety shoe allowance and Prescription Safety Glasses.
This position will trouble-shoot, repair, replace, maintain and install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical production related equipment within this high-speed metal packaging manufacturing facility. These positions will also provide training for equipment operation and safety precautions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Production Millwrights responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Follow all plant safety rules & required PPE at all times
- Ensure safe operation practices
- Interest in building and repairing a variety of mechanical systems
- Fabrication for machinery and special items as required
- Repair manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, pumps, piping, and other mechanical equipment
- Comply with all environmental, health, safety and housekeeping programs
- Rebuild production equipment
- Ability to Weld
- Ability to drill and tap holes
- Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
- Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans
- Experience in conveyor systems and maintenance of systems
- Ability to remove broken bolts
- Ability to use cutting torches
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work to exacting standards
- Ability to get along with co-workers
- Ability to work at heights or in cramped spaces
- Safety awareness and responsible work attitude
- Mathematical and mechanical ability

Job Requirements/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements
- Must have significant experience in operating production machines. Mechanical Background
- Related work experience or technical training/school or technical degrees may be substituted for the required work experience.
- Ability to work a 12 hour shift which may include night shift and weekends.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Requirements
- Three (3) plus years of experience industrial maintenance experience.
- high school diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
Competencies
- Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members or to customers.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work effectively both as an individual and in a team environment using collaborative methods.
- Must be committed to ongoing personal training and development.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- The team member frequently is required to climb or balance and talk or hear.
- The team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
- Working with high speed automated machines and equipment in a manufacturing plant producing aluminum ends for the beverage industry.
- The plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
- Will have constant pressure to produce high quality ends and to keep the production line operating.
- The shifts are a 2, 2, 3 schedule, starting at 6am and ending at 6pm (12 hours), or 6pm-6am.
- The plant is hot when the weather is hot and cold when the weather is cold.
- While performing duties, the team member regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The team member frequently works in high, precarious places and may frequently be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and vibrations.
- The noise level is loud in the work environment.
