Overview

Responsibilities

Division Overview:

Crown’s Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl as well as shaped cans. We truly focus on excellence.  Here is your chance to join the Crown Food Team.

Position Overview:

Front End Maintainers are responsible for initiating the can making process (set up, operation and maintenance of the cupping press, body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems).

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, upend, and load coils onto the unwinder, ensuring proper feeding through the lubricator and into the press.
  • Perform setup, maintenance, and operation of the upender, unwinder, lubricator, and cupping press.
  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and operation of body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems.
  • Monitors and record can specifications in the system, including flange wall thickness, mid-wall thickness, dome depth, and trim can height.
  • Conduct visual inspections and cup weight checks to ensure compliance with production standards.
  • Take corrective measures as necessary to maintain quality.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed to ensure can flow through the plant.
  • Complete required paperwork, including coil logs, check sheets, and other documentation.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Exhibits effective problem-solving and troubleshooting methods.
  • Basic knowledge of how electrical components work.
  • Ability to use precision measurement devices (i.e. calipers, micrometers and dial indicators).
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of applicable safety regulations, reinforcing a culture where safety is the top priority.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with all team members.
