Overview

Crown’s Food Division is one of the leading manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. Location:
Hanover, PA
This plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry over various shift operations. The Hanover Plant is located on Rt 94 in York County and is in close proximity to York, PA, Gettysburg, PA, and the Maryland border.
**CURRENT OPENINGS: Continuous Schedule; 4x4;5p-5a, and Conventional 3rd Shift Schedule, Mon - Fri, 11p-7:30a. OVERTIME AS REQUIRED.**
Position Overview:
The Production Line Maintainer, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor, will be responsible for maintenance of and operating a production line or designated area of the production line (depending on assigned work area), performing quality checks and making mechanical adjustments to the line based on the quality readings.
Duties And Responsibilities:
The Production Line Maintainer’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Safety first attitude to work effectively in a team environment
- Responsible for the mechanical performance of automated production machines and equipment that performs one or more functions in the making of high-quality steel cans
- Make necessary adjustments, repair, and/or changes to equipment and machines
- Direct and assist in set up equipment and changeovers
- Daily use of micrometer, dial indicators, and other precision measuring equipment to make educated decisions in the operation of machines and equipment in area of responsibility
- Use SPC and Process control to maintain production of quality products at all times
- Relieve slitter for breaks (3 piece)
- Communicate pertinent information between management, co-workers, and between shifts on changes to equipment, production problems or any other related information
- Assists and trains and/or coaches new team members
- Responsible in following SOPs, Plant Rules, 6S Housekeeping, maintaining equipment and modifications of existing production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies
- Participate in plant Safety programs
- Attend shift meetings and participate as needed
- Complete documentation, records and reports as required
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Manufacturing or machine operator experience
- Basic computer abilities
- Basic math abilities
- Must be available to work alternate shifts and/or overtime based on business need
Preferred Requirements
- High School Education/GED
- Previous demonstrated industrial maintenance experience
- Knowledge of all OSHA related training in a manufacturing environment.
- 6S Training
- GMP and Food Safety knowledge and/or previous experience
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand/walk for 8–12-hour shifts
Working Conditions
- Generally, works in a plant environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to light lifting, warehouse forklift traffic
- Production noise level is frequently loud
