Crown’s Closures, Aerosol & Promotional Packaging (CAPP) Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for the largest consumer packaging companies in North America.  Our distinguished list of clients including SC Johnson, Abbott Laboratories and Unilever.    We manufacture total packaging solutions including:

Closures: We manufacture a variety of decorative food and metal vacuum sealed closures, metal and composite closures, capping systems for glass and plastic container manufacturers.

Aerosol Packaging: We manufacture cans and ends for manufacturers of personal care, food, household and industrial products.  We offer our customers a broad range of products including multiple sizes, color schemes and shaped packaging.

Promotional and Specialty Packaging: We manufacture a wide array of decorative containers with numerous lid and closure variations. 

Location: The Plant is located in Connellsville, PA.

Position overview:

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance & Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of the engineering, electronics, and mechanical operations of the facilities including coordinating and managing activities of the maintenance teams throughout the facility. 

The Maintenance & Engineering Manager will also oversee a variety of skilled trade functions in the installation, maintenance, & repair in the production and manufacture of closures of the highest quality at the lowest possible cost.


The Maintenance & Engineering Manager responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:  


•    Ensures all safety equipment, guards, and devices are always in place, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the area assigned. Makes sure area/machine of work is clean after finishing up repairs or PM.
•     Train all employees to necessary standards of Operation and oversee the apprenticeship program for the skilled trades in partnership with Human Resources.
•    Oversee Installs, maintenance, and repairs to equipment. Locates and diagnosis trouble in production equipment.

•     Oversee the repairs of assembling and disassemble all tools and dies, along with all assigned machinery and equipment. Understand and follow blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks
•    Able to communicate & work closely with maintenance teams in troubleshooting to resolve production issues.
•    Analyze process for out-of-control limits for cause and takes corrective action where possible.
•    Ensures that mechanicaland electronic complete all assigned duties.
•    Performs other related duties as required
•    Plan and coordinate PM Days and Overhauls ensuring all necessary tasks are planned and executed.
•    Ensure necessary parts are ordered and follow up to ensure delivery.

•    Works closely with Storeroom Attendants on keeping stock of needed items

  • Applies knowledge of various processes and production methods
  • Responsible for the downtime performance to meet plant efficiencies to budget
  •  Ensures compliance to standards; and recommends modifications of existing equipment to achieve optimal performance toachieve site KPI objectives
  • Communicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production obstacles or any other related information
  • Works with employees on identifying, discussing solutions, and implementing "fixes" on machinery and equipment problems
  • Responsible for ongoing PM&R E-Maintenance and equipment check program adherence
  • Analyze data on parts usage, tooling usage, raw material usage, etc. to develop and implement process or preventative maintenance improvements
  • Performs and facilitates "on the job training" and/or coaching for team members
  • Performance Management responsibilities as needed for team members
  • Completes and/or administers documentation such as area or machine specific reports
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
