Crown is seeking a Vice President of Corporate Risk Management to lead the global insurance and risk management function. In this role, the candidate will plan and direct all aspects of the company’s risk management policies, objectives, and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess and monitor risks facing the company’s operations and ensure effective hazard risk management for the organization. Determine the appropriate structure of global property, casualty, executive risk and credit insurance programs. Select and manage brokers, insurers, professional service providers, consultants and vendors. Manage key relationships with brokers and insurers. Ensure effective risk transfer.
- Develop and communicate annual risk budget to all Divisions. Develop and oversee allocations to include key risk management metrics. Monitor and report Total Cost of Risk.
- Manage the company’s captive insurance company. Manage all service providers and ensure timely financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Regularly analyze financial and business plans and determine the best utilization for the captive. Develop and execute reinsurance arrangements with Crown’s brokers and insurers.
- Lead the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management program. Continue to develop the Company’s enterprise risk management framework and reporting. Interview and liaise with various Risk Owners within the company. Prepare and present a reporting package to the Audit Committee of the BOD at least once annually.
- Direct property loss prevention efforts. Collaborate with engineering consulting firm to prioritize and address key recommendations. Secure management buy-in and funding for Company’s top property risks. Collaborate with internal Project Management & Engineering group to implement internal standards and ensure coordination between consulting firm and internal project managers.
- Develop and monitor global claims management protocols for subsidiaries as well as for captive reinsurance transactions. Facilitate communication between loss adjusters and Crown businesses. Direct and negotiate major claim settlements with insurers. Utilize the Risk Management Information System (STARS) for all claims management and reporting.
- Review various business contracts to ensure effective contractual risk transfer. Work with in-house and external counsel on drafting appropriate insurance and indemnity language. Provide guidance to business units on contractual risks.
- Continually promote a better understanding of general risk management practices and Crown’s insurance programs. Provide general advice to Crown’s businesses and facilitate insurance solutions where needed.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible positions in risk management or a directly related field
- International Risk Management experience
- Excellent oral and written communication; interpersonal; analytical; leadership skills
- Proficient PC application skills to include PowerPoint, Excel; RMIS
- Ability to relate to and work with all levels of colleagues both internally and externally
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate sound judgment
- 10-15% Travel both international and domestic
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s in business administration (MBA) preferred.
