Position Overview, Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of our accounting group, the Staff Accountant will have an integral part in the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Accounting Department and have contact with other Corporate/General Office departments and manufacturing personnel. In this role, the staff accountant will be a key contributor to all three departments (AP, GL, and FA).
The Job responsibilities:
- Contribute in completion of monthly, quarterly and year-end closing.
- Analyze, prepare, track and input AS400 journal entries.
- Reconcile and analyze various Account Analysis’s on a monthly basis (AP, GL, and FA).
- Handle Fixed Asset accounting for the Food and CAPP divisions. (PAR approvals, Capitalizations, Disposals, physical inventories, etc).
- Assist the AP department with managing AP inbox, inputting invoices for payment, and monthly AP tasks (AP trial balance clean-up, uncashed checks, etc).
- Assist in Other Dept. duties and Special Projects as deemed appropriate for all departments.
- BS in Accounting
- Proficiency in MS Excel required.
- Manages time effectively and prioritizes completing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Demonstrates strong work ethic and the desire to learn.
- Meticulous attention to detail and committed to producing high-quality work.
