Crown has an immediate opening for an Director of Sales in the North American Beverage Division. The Director will collaborate sales and marketing activities for Crown’s beverage division. Success in this position requires management of cross-functional relationships including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, Quality, R&D, Logistics and Accounting. This position will serve as a key contact of the Division to the customer projecting a strong positive image of the Company. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing the responsibilities for this role will include the following:
Responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of National Account Managers and Account Managers, driving strategic growth and fostering professional development.
Build and strengthen long-term relationships that position CROWN as a strategic partner.
- Management of the national and local account relationships, including new business opportunities, maintenance of existing business, new product launches, strategic partnership development, etc.
- Develop strategic plans with account base that address customer needs & build cross-functional relationships with key decision-makers.
- Develops and executes sales strategy with accountability for attaining business growth and profit objectives. Ensures that strategy and objectives are aligned with overall company objectives
- Maximize account penetration to generate increased profit.
- Communicate business developments that influence the business climate at the account.
- Continually gather, analyze and provide competitive information
We are seeking a high-potential individual for this opportunity with the desire and ability to advance within the organization. Requirements include the following:
- BA/BS degree in business, packaging or a related discipline. MBA is a plus
- 3+ years in a sales management role, in the packaging industry
Comprehensive understanding of the beverage industry landscape, including competitive, supplier, and customer dynamics across key segments such as carbonated soft drinks (CSD), beer, alcohol, energy drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, and emerging categories.
- Demonstrated success working with customers on a national / global level and a strong history in the development of existing and new accounts
- Experience, in presenting/interacting with corporate customer level, and plant filler level.
- Experience in customer forecasting, accounts receivable, claims resolution, and other account management responsibilities
- Experience working with all disciplines in an organization, including engineering, manufacturing, R&D, sourcing and finance
- Proven ability to communicate and coordinate innovation projects
- Superior oral and written communication skills as well as proven presentation skills
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple customers and priorities to completion
- Self-starter, eager to take initiative with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting but driven to ensure decisions are made completely independently with limited supervision as needed. Well organized and detail oriented with outstanding time management skills
- Ability to effectively use analytical or theoretical approaches to problem solving
- Complete understanding of the Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Access)
- Travel throughout the US & Canada is estimated at 40- 50% % (depending on home office location). Must have valid passport to allow for travel into Canada and USA.
