Overview

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

To support efficient palletizing and material flow by maintaining equipment, ensuring quality standards, and assisting with warehouse operations to keep production running smoothly.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a steady supply of materials to machines and ensure all materials meet quality standards.
  • Ensure pallets are properly aligned and clear any jams.
  • Sort pallet inventory and separate defective pallets.
  • Perform electronic inspection at the start of each shift; report any issues to the shift supervisor, tag out the lift, and place in the forklift room.
  • Refill strappers with banding material and monitor pallet flow through lower conveying; check and document band tension once per shift.
  • Inspect and transport finished pallets to the warehouse; report any defects.
  • Replace missing cans or bands on pallets before moving them to the warehouse.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the lower conveying area.
  • Assist in other areas to support smooth can flow through the plant.
  • Scan all production to the correct bay and ensure P.O. numbers are accurate.
  • Complete daily cleaning tasks and sign off on the checklist.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of forklift operation with at least 75% of the workday operating the forklift.
  • Able to read and understand date codes and pallet tickets; create and apply pallet tickets.
  • Ability to learn overall can making process (can sizes, lacquer finishes and pack sizes) and all quality requirements with finished goods and raw materials.
  • Basic data entry skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with all team members.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of applicable safety regulations, reinforcing a culture where safety is the top priority.

Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box.”

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
  • The Team Member may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

  • Generally, working in a plant environment but may be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.  
  • The Team Member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is frequently loud.
