Position Overview:
As a key member of the plant management team, the primary function of the Plant Superintendent is to lead, coach, develop, and support all hourly employees in their activities associated with the production of Crown products. Achieve company, departmental, and individual goals through the use of continuous improvement. Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to the following.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Strong collaborative communication skills. Communicate with employees, concerning problem solving, scheduling, overtime, vacations, training, staffing needs, employee relations, safety, and quality.
Review, analyze, and act to correct non-conformance in the areas on policies, procedures, safety, SPC performance, and quality.
Lead, coach, and support line process teams in their efforts to improve quality, production, increase flexibility and reduce cost.
Review and support master scheduling to meet production needs.
Support the Plant Manager in all aspect of daily plant operations
Manage direct reports, prepare work schedules and assign specific duties
Implement and ensure all Corporate policies, goals, objectives and procedures
Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services
Determine staffing requirements, by interviewing, hiring and training hourly staff
Provide a safe working environment for all employees through SAFE observations, team safety meetings, and safety initiatives
Ensure the maintenance of physical assets of the plant to insure continued operation and attainment of line effectiveness, raw materials utilization and costs.
Lead and support improvements in asset effectiveness and develop tracking systems for downtime and action plans
Ensure the assessments of employees and devise individual development plans
Assist in the creation and development of training programs for both salary and hourly employees
Support the plant productivity team in reviewing operating standards, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), material usage effectiveness, quality specifications to identify improvement opportunities.
Develop, manage and execute a work request process that achieves plant objectives for quality, productivity, safety and GMP improvements. Includes identifying needs, estimating costs, evaluating benefits, determining classification, requisitioning and project management
Review financial statements, sales, activity reports, other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement to determine areas needing cost reduction, and program improvement
Participate in the developing annual budgets as needed

Qualifications:
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum five years manufacturing experience
Excellent verba and written communication skills.
Full command of MS Office required (Word, Excel, & Power Point). Good computer skills.
3 to 5 years of collaborative leadership skills a must.
Strong organizational and management skills.
Strong dedication to time management
2 piece can manufacturing background in food or beverage industry
Competencies
Strong problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
Ability to work independently or with a team
Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box”
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The Team Member may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Generally works in a plant environment but may be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting.
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
The Team Member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
The noise level is frequently loud.
