Overview

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

To safely ensure that all end center equipment is maintained and operating to produce finished can lids which meet all process specifications.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Perform set-up and maintenance of all end center equipment which includes: upender, unwinder, multi-die press, curler, liner, oven, bagging station and conveying.
  • Perform set-up and maintenance of all support systems, which include compound supply, air and vacuum systems.
  • Inspect, upend and load coils onto the unwinder and feed into the press.  Transfer materials and finished product to and from end center as needed.
  • Complete required quality checks to ensure process is within specification and enter data into the computer.  Perform visual checks of finished lids to ensure entire process is in compliance and take appropriate measures to correct the process when deficiencies are found.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation such as process check sheets, log books, and ESE and maintenance check sheets.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans and lids through the plant.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas and follow all safety procedures and work practices
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned


Minimum Requirements

  • Strong mechanical skills, including working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Working knowledge of multi die press set-up and operation.           
  • Ability to understand quality specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components.
  • Ability to use precision measurements devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and feeler gauges.
  • Ability to safely operate production forklift and maintain certification.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to work functions.
