Overview

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The End Line Maintainer will safely ensure that all end center equipment is maintained and operating to produce finished can lids which meet all process specifications.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and maintain all end center equipment—including the upender, unwinder, multi-die press, curler, liner, oven, bagging station, and conveyors.
  • Set-up and service all support systems, such as compound supply, air, and vacuum systems.
  • Inspect, orient, and load coils onto the unwinder, feeding them into the press.
  • Manage the transfer of raw materials and finished products to and from the end center as needed.
  • Conduct necessary quality checks to ensure the process meets standards, log data into the computer, visually inspect finished lids to verify compliance, and take corrective action if deficiencies are detected.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation including process check sheets, logbooks, ESE, and maintenance check sheets.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans and lids through the plant.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas and follow all safety procedures and work practices
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong mechanical skills, including working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Working knowledge of multi die press set-up and operation.           
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality lid specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical components.
  • Ability to use precision measurements devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and feeler gauges.
  • Ability to safely operate production forklift and maintain certification.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to work functions.

  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box”

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
  • The Team Member may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

  • Generally, working in a plant environment, but may be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.  
  • The Team Member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is frequently loud.
