Overview

Division Overview:
Crown’s Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl as well as shaped cans. We truly focus on excellence. Here is your chance to join the Crown Food Division.
Location:
Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry, working both continuous and conventional shifts. There are approximately 85 employees at the Hanover location. The Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York PA and the Maryland border.
Position overview:
The Palletizer Operator works closely with Supervision and Quality to ensure optimum levels in Quality Inspections, Package identification, and Final packaging.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the palletizer operator responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Understand and follow verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks
- Responsibility of maintaining the palletizer operation of the food can package process with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage
- Responsible for the operations of one or more machines or equipment for the production of 2 piece or 3 piece steel cans
- Ability to safely operate, identify basic mechanical problems, and the maintaining of process equipment
- Communicates all pertinent information between management, co-workers, and between shifts on changes to equipment, production problems or any other related information
- Assists and trains and/or coaching of all new palletizer operators as needed or required
- Applies skills, methods to improve plant production
- Responsible in following SOP’s, Plant Rules, 6S Housekeeping, maintaining equipment and modifications of existing production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies
- Enter information into a computer to generate labels for the pallets
- Perform visual quality checks as required, record accurate quality records and other documentations as required
- Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as monthly SAFE cards, accident/near miss/hazard reporting, and data process control input
- Attend shift meetings and participate as needed
- Collaborate with other operators to ensure a smooth transition between shifts
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Minimum Requirements
- Manufacturing or machine operator experience a plus
- Basic computer abilities
- Basic math abilities
- Must be available to work alternate shift schedules and/or overtime based on business need
Preferred Requirements
- High School Education/GED
- Knowledge of all OSHA related training in a manufacturing environment.
- 6S Training
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs frequently throughout the shift
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hour shifts
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions
- Generally works in a plant environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be exposed to light lifting, warehouse forklift traffic
- The team member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
- Production noise level is frequently loud
