Overview

Responsibilities

::Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of the engineering and maintenance sector on a Beverage metal can-making Plant. Development and evaluation of key performance indicators for Plant Performance and Maintenance; set-up and preventive maintenance planning of Plant Equipment (Forming Press, Printing Presses, Curing Ovens, Chemical Washers, Air Compressed Systems, Conveyance Systems, Lubrication Systems, Necking Systems and Palletizing Systems); Can-making production line troubleshooting; management of engineering staff and workforce; spoilage control and improvement; plan and oversee equipment purchases and in-house construction and fabrication projects; plan and oversee technological changes such as retrofitting machinery; facilitate new product, parts and raw materials trials; manage equipment design and product line design; provide and coordinate appropriate training for plant personnel.


In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (including Industrial Engineering and/or Electronic Engineering), Business Administration, or Management and three years of experience in manufacturing-based supervisory role.

Preferred Requirements

Background in education, training or experience must include demonstrated holistic knowledge and understanding of the metal can-making process; experience with metal can-making troubleshooting; demonstrated ability to identify specific problems throughout the production line that reduce production; experience with preventive and corrective maintenance assessment; demonstrated experience in cost reduction and cost avoidance; experience with development of policy and procedure; Good Leadership, strategic vision and ability to analyze and solve problems; experience in management of engineering staff and workforce, and in employee relations; Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective negotiation skills

  • Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. . Ability to understand and speak basic English. Attention to detail, thoroughness, organization,  PC Proficiency, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  • Generally, works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.  
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is frequently loud.
