Responsibilities
::
Reporting directly to the Production Control Manager, the Warehouse Manufacturing Supervisor responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Maintains receiving, warehouse, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational programs and policies.
- Complies with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling and date storage system
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing design layouts; inspecting equipment issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacements.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by coordinating, supervising activities, scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results and focusing on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Keeps warehouse areas safe, clean and organized.
- Communicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to shipping issues, equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information.
- Works with employees on identifying, discussing solutions and implementing “fixes” on machinery and equipment problems
- Performs and facilitates “on the job training” and/or coaching of all employees as needed or required
- Applies knowledge of various processes, production methods and processes to improve plant production
- Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, disciplinary actions, monthly SAFE cards, time and attendance, injury/incident reports and process control sheets
- Performs Production Control duties, as assigned
- Primary backup to the Production Control Manager
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements
- High School Education/GED
- Five to seven year(s) experience in a high speed manufacturing environment
- Two to four years of shipping, warehouse and proven supervisory experience
- Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Packaging industry experience
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
